In the most trying times, the ACLU has always shown up for the fight to protect our fundamental freedoms and our democracy. That remains truer than ever today.

As two ACLU lawyers in the fight for reproductive freedom and voting rights, we want you to know that it's our community fighting alongside each other – from our courageous clients to generous supporters like you – that keeps us going strong.

But we have a really big fight ahead of us in the coming months as we approach the 2024 election. Before then, we wanted to reach out to let you know exactly what ongoing support like yours has already achieved for our work:

• Since Roe was overturned, the ACLU and our affiliates have gone to court in 15 states (plus Guam) to protect abortion access.
• As a major national election in 2024 looms, our attorneys have been working nonstop to protect voting rights, and expand access to the ballot across the country, with nine active voter suppression suits across nine states, and 11 active legal challenges against discriminatory and gerrymandered maps.
• And our fellow attorneys working across the issues are doing other critical work right now: Bringing challenges against anti-trans laws to courts nationwide, lawsuits to stop classroom censorship and book bans, cases to protect immigrants' rights, and so much more.

This is just some of the work – both long-haul fights and sudden emergencies – in the fight for people's rights that your contribution will support. And with the 2024 election ahead, the ACLU is preparing to keep up this fight – no matter who is in the Oval Office.
