On Tuesday, Governor Walz delivered his State of the State Address at Owatonna High School.
"Tonight, I’m proud to report that the state of our state is strong – because our kids are better equipped than ever to succeed," said Governor Walz.

On Saturday, Governor Walz joined federal and state legislators and community leaders to break ground on a new project to construct an underpass at 11th Street in Moorhead. The project includes two grade separations of 11th Street under the BNSF rail lines, paving, pedestrian accessibility improvements, utility replacements, and signals. The project was made possible by significant state, federal, and local partnerships, including $134 million from the state.
"The 11th Street Underpass project in Moorhead is officially underway. I’ve said it before: We’re ushering in a golden age for infrastructure in Minnesota," said Governor Walz.
On Wednesday, Governor Walz joined community leaders to break ground on Spectro Alloys’ new aluminum recycling plant in Rosemount. The new 90,000 square foot facility is expected to create up to 50 new full-time jobs and add up to 120 million pounds per year of additional recycling capacity.
"We're building a strong and sustainable economy in Minnesota," said Governor Walz. "Business investments like these are a win for Rosemount and a win for Minnesota."
