JOHN, When there’s work to do in Washington, you know I’ll be there fighting the good fight. But as soon as the bell rings, I’m rushing out the door to catch a flight back to East Tennessee. I’ve been making the rounds quite a bit lately, which is undoubtedly my favorite part of this job. After all, the whole purpose of public service is to connect with and listen to constituents. Whether it’s a crowd at Union County’s 33 Diner for “Breakfast with Burchett” or a quick trip to the Blount County 911 call center to drop off a few pizzas, I cherish every minute I get to spend with the folks who have placed their trust in me. |
