Our DC team is answering your
questions on the COVID-19 relief bill
Friend,
After weeks of denying the existence and severity of COVID-19 in
the United States, the United States under Trump’s leadership has the
largest number of confirmed cases.1
With incredible speed, this pandemic is revealing the full costs of
this Administration’s incompetence, racism, and extremist policies.
But it’s also revealing our interconnectedness and the power of our
solidarity.
Last week we asked you to push your Senators to pass a
COVID-19 relief bill that put people first. In just one day, over
1,500 Bend the Arc members wrote 48 out of 50 Senators before the
vote. To help you understand this massive $2 trillion package
(what it includes, what it leaves out), our DC team will be going live
on Facebook at 4:15pm this Thursday, April 2nd.

The costs of inaction by the Trump
administration are splashed across the news, daily:
In New York City, doctors are wearing garbage bags as substitutes
for Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).2
On Friday, a teenager in Los Angeles died, likely related to
COVID-19, after being turned away from an urgent care clinic because
they didn’t have health insurance.3
Historically unprecedented unemployment rates continue to rise
every week and while a national social distancing order has been
extended through at least the end of April, the relief bill provides
too little support for too many.

Arc’s advocacy team on Facebook Live at 4:15pm this Thursday.

it to your calendar.
In strength, resilience, and love,
