I'm excited to update you on my efforts to deliver for our communities. I have been hard at work meeting with constituents and preparing for exciting community events that my office is hosting in the coming weeks.

Delivering Federal Funds to Respond Now

I presented a ceremonial check for $850,000 to Respond Now for the Community Project Funding I secured in the FY2024 appropriations legislation. Respond Now works to alleviate hunger and prevent homelessness for the most at-risk, serving 12,000 clients annually in Chicago's South Suburbs. The $850,000 will go toward Respond Now's planned Food Pantry Expansion Project designed to give their clients a supermarket experience.

LGBTQ Task Force Meeting 

It was an honor to have Adrian Shanker, Senior Advisor on LGBTQI+ Health Equity for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, visit my LGBTQ Task Force. I will always work to protect LGBTQ rights in the Second District and across our country.

Summer Internship 

Summer internship applications are open for my district offices and my office in Washington! Internships are open to college and graduate students as well as recent graduates. My office will be accepting applications until April 5th.

Congressional Art Competition

 My office is now accepting submissions for the 2024 Congressional Art Competition. All high school students in the Second District are encouraged to apply.
