Celebrating Easter

Happy Easter from my family to yours. I hope you have a restful weekend celebrating Jesus Christ’s resurrection.

He is risen!

Condemning the Biden Administration’s Refusal to Defend Israel on the World Stage

I sent a letter to President Joe Biden denouncing his Administration’s decision to abstain from the United Nations Security Council’s (UNSC) vote to declare an immediate ceasefire in the Israel-Hamas war. The abstention followed a U.S.-sponsored ceasefire resolution that was vetoed by the UNSC last week.

Immediately following the adoption of the ceasefire resolution, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu canceled an Israeli delegation’s visit to Washington, D.C. The delegation was scheduled to arrive this week.

Israel is one of America’s strongest allies, and we have made clear our support of its right to defend itself against the terror group Hamas. The October 7th slaughter of Israeli citizens by Hamas was barbaric. Hamas’s brutal capture and subsequent torture of Israeli hostages in the time since proves that Hamas leaders have no intentions to end their assault on Israel’s sovereignty.

An immediate and permanent ceasefire will do nothing more than allow Hamas to regroup and prepare for another brutal assault on Israel. The Biden Administration’s refusal to support our ally on the world stage is shameful. Joe Biden and his officials must immediately reiterate the United States’s commitment to support our strongest Middle Eastern ally.

The letter may be read here.

The Washington Examiner covered the letter here.

Urging Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer to Hold an Impeachment Trial for Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas

Speaker of the House Mike Johnson sent a letter to Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer informing him that the House will be transmitting articles of impeachment against Alejandro Mayorkas to the Senate on April 10.

The House passed the impeachment articles last month. We impeached Secretary Mayorkas for high crimes and misdemeanors, including his willful and systemic refusal to comply with the law and his breach of public trust. Throughout Alejandro Mayorkas’s tenure as Homeland Security Secretary, he has refused to comply with the immigration laws passed by Congress. He has repeatedly lied to Americans about his role in the invasion at our southern border.

As one of Secretary Mayorkas’s impeachment managers, I will help to present the case of Mayorkas’s impeachment to the Senate should Senator Schumer allow for a trial.

Senator Schumer has a duty to the American people to hold an impeachment trial for Secretary Mayorkas. I, along with Speaker Johnson and the ten other impeachment managers, look forward to arguing our case for impeachment in the Senate.

The letter may be read here.
