John, this is a bit of a long email, but I think it’s worth the read. Then if you can, please chip in to help us power our critical work here at the Jane Fonda Climate PAC. [[link removed]]

Last week I stood on a soccer field in Ladera Heights, right next to the Inglewood Oil Field — the nation’s largest urban drilling site.

I was surrounded by community members, activists, and some familiar faces like Arnold Schwarzenegger and Governor Gavin Newsom. Together, we spoke out against Big Oil’s latest attack on our health and safety.

Los Angeles Times: What do Schwarzenegger, Fonda and Newsom have in common? They’re fighting oil drilling

See, California passed a historic bill in 2022 that bans oil drilling within 3,200 feet of our schools, parks, and homes. It was a huge win for climate activists and frontline communities. But of course, Big Oil didn’t like it one bit.

Now, they’re deploying a multi-million dollar campaign to deceive voters into thinking that oil rigs belong behind homes and pre-schools. It shows just how far they'll go to prioritize profits over people.

Hearing the stories from those who have been directly impacted truly hit home for me. Stories of families living in the shadow of pumpjacks, of children playing beside toxic drill sites. Oil companies are making these communities sacrifice zones. It’s a heartbreaking reality for too many Californians.

And it's why we’re fighting tooth and nail to defeat Big Oil again.

The truth is that Big Oil is using California as a testing ground, spending millions to get a referendum on the ballot this November that would subvert the will of the people and take us backward.

Your support will help us counter Big Oil’s playbook, not just in California, but across the country.

Now, here's the role you play in this fight: We're in the midst of an ambitious end-of-quarter fundraising push. Thanks to an anonymous donor, every contribution you make by March 31st will be matched up to $15,000.

Please, John, if you've ever felt moved by our cause, let this be the moment you act. Chip in, join us, and let's show the oil industry that their era of unchecked power is over. [[link removed]]
