John,
If I've learned anything in my career in public service, it's that creating truly positive change is never easy. But that shouldn't mean we have to waver on our values or water down our progressive vision.
When I was first elected to the Glendale City Council, I knew going in that the council was conservative-leaning. Rather than assume progress was hopeless, we got organized and passed an ordinance banning the Glendale Gun Show from being held on public property.
In the Assembly, I championed bold policies to address climate change, protect our reproductive freedoms, and true health care reforms -- even when I knew we'd face stiff resistance from corporate and special interests.
I'm clear-eyed about what I will be facing with MAGA Republicans in the House, but that won't change what I'm trying to accomplish. And I've proven that progress is possible despite opposition!
Our first FEC deadline since officially getting on the November ballot is in two more days, and we have a $6,633 fundraising gap to close before then. Will you add to our growing list of grassroots supporters by donating $3 today?

This campaign is about creating
meaningful reform. It's about building a society with clean air to breathe and pure water to drink, freeing our communities from the terror of gun violence, and restoring reproductive health care access.
Thank you for making this possible,
Laura Friedman
