Recently, news broke that indicted Senator Bob Menendez is eyeing an Independent run for Senate. The consequences of that could be devastating as Democrats are fighting to hold on to the Senate Majority in November.

If Bob Menendez runs as an Independent, is New Jersey's U.S. Senate seat in play for Republicans?

The answer? Not if we win the primary. Here’s why:

I’m a Democrat that won a district Trump won twice.
A recent poll shows I am currently appealing to independent voters by far bigger numbers than my competitors.
Our grassroots team is stronger than anything New Jersey has seen before, and I know we can take on any challenge and win.
