Civic Learning Week Promotes Civics as Unifying Force. |

On March 11-15, OCP champion iCivics hosted the second annual Civic Learning Week, which included hundreds of events on the importance of civic education to strengthening constitutional democracy. The national forum held on March 12 in Washington, D.C. featured a conversation between U.S. Supreme Court Justices Sonia Sotomayor and Amy Coney Barrett that was moderated by Citizen University CEO and co-founder Eric Liu. Major organizations in the civic education movement used the occasion to announce new resources, opportunities, and fellowships for students, educators, and adults to engage in yearlong civic learning and engagement. |

Utah Launches Service Year Fellowships. |
On March 1, the Utah State Legislature passed the Young Adult Service Fellowship (SB 206), which invests $11.3 million over 5 years in service fellowships that will provide thousands of young adults from Utah
the opportunity to serve in nonprofits and agencies of their choice that align with state priorities. More Perfect worked with Governor Spencer Cox over the past year to develop the framework for the law. |

Trust. News. Democracy: An Action-Prompting Event in Austin. |
On April 9-10, the LBJ Foundation, More Perfect and the MacArthur Foundation will co-host Trust. News. Democracy, a conference that will bring together the nation’s leading
reporters, publishers, and broadcasters to examine the news industry’s critical weaknesses and failings, and provide solutions to help restore faith in their profession.
