John,

From our executive director Christina Swarns, who is one of very few Black women to have ever argued before the Supreme Court, to our first-ever staff attorney Vanessa Potkin, who has helped exonerate and free dozens of wrongfully convicted people, the Innocence Project’s team is made up of strong women leaders who work relentlessly to transform our criminal legal system.

This Women’s History Month, we want to take time to celebrate the incredible women on our team who are advocating for a more just system and fighting to advance the innocence movement every single day.

Learn more about the amazing work they’ve done here at the Innocence Project, and then share this piece with your friends and family online. [[link removed]]

To all of the women out there fighting for the innocent and working to build a more just and equitable system: Thank you for all that you do.

Sincerely,

The Innocence Project Team

The Innocence Project works to free the innocent, prevent wrongful convictions, and create fair, compassionate, and equitable systems of justice for everyone. Founded in 1992 by Barry C. Scheck and Peter J. Neufeld at the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law at Yeshiva University, the organization is now an independent nonprofit. Our work is guided by science and grounded in anti-racism.
