Earlier this month, we celebrated a momentous federal court order that establishes a new Latino-majority legislative district in Central Washington. The court found last summer that Washington’s legislative map in the Yakima Valley violated the federal Voting Rights Act.

What does this mean? With the new legislative map, Latino voters in Central Washington will finally have the opportunity to elect their state senator of choice in the 14^th legislative district. 

Republicans are gearing up to defend these three long-held GOP seats in what was once a safe red district. And while we have the opportunity for Central Washington Latino voters to finally elect their legislative candidates of choice, it will take significant resources to ensure success this fall - and we need your help.

For years, we’ve been partnering with Central Washington community leaders and organizations in support of their local organizing efforts – especially in the Yakima Valley. But we need your support today to allow us to continue doing critical grassroots outreach and to support local candidates who are truly representative of their districts.
