March was transportation month in the Biden administration.

Transportation is responsible for more climate pollution than any other sector in the U.S., but in recent months advocates like you showed up in a big way—thanks in part to the collective comments and actions of the movement, we have three huge wins to celebrate this month:

1. First, the Biden administration announced the biggest-ever coordinated federal investment to electrify our freight industry. This will translate to hundreds of thousands of jobs, less pollution, and more clean trucks on the road.

2. Last week, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) set the strongest-ever pollution standards for light-duty vehicles. This rule sets the stage for most cars, SUVs, and small trucks sold in the U.S. to be all-electric or hybrids by 2032.

3. Today, EPA finalized its "Phase 3" rule for heavy-duty vehicles, which will help electrify America’s trucking fleet, buses, and trains, avoid a billion tons worth of greenhouse gas pollution, and bring cleaner air to the 72 million Americans living near trucking routes.

Together, these rules will dramatically cut climate pollution and clean up some of the most toxic air in the country—largely in Black, Brown, and low-income communities.
