With World Wish Month just days away, we wanted to share Mya's story with you to highlight just how important your support truly is – and why donating today to become one of our first WishMakers is so crucial.

Mya was born with a nervous system disorder, which has left her unable to walk on her own. Her doctors didn’t think she would live to see the age of 2. But today, Mya is 5 years old and continues to defy the odds – and when her wish to meet and ride a unicorn came true, it just gave her even more proof that anything is possible.

On her Wish Day, Mya went on a scavenger hunt to find clues left by Clover – her unicorn. Finally, she saw Clover, and her eyes lit up. After the two of them went on a ride together, Mya was surprised with unicorn-themed gifts and a princess picnic with her family and friends. 

A wish like Mya’s takes tons of planning, logistics and funds. And with 40 more kids added to the list of waiting wishes every day, we’re relying on the generosity of supporters like you to make sure we can grant them as quickly as possible. That’s why reaching our $44,000 goal (in honor of 44 years of Make-A-Wish®) is so important. This isn’t a goal we can afford to miss for kids facing critical illnesses – but right now, we’re falling short.
