Hi John, I was going through old photos, and I couldn't help sharing this one ⬆️.

Isn't it funny how, as parents, our kids always stay this little in our eyes? It might not seem like much, but the boy in both of these pictures – my son, Andrew – is a huge reason I decided to run for Congress in the first place.

See, in November 2021, my son ran for his life when a mass shooter opened fire in his school's hallway. That day, four of his classmates didn't make it home, and our community was changed forever.

I remember those few seconds where I didn't know if my son – that little boy in the Star Wars costume – was alive or not, and they were the worst of my life. I never want another family to feel that way.

Since then, I've been a champion in our community for common-sense gun safety measures. While I'm glad we've taken steps forward as a state, our elected official in DC would rather continue to let gun groups and other far-right extremists line his pockets than advocate for our needs.

John, I'm doing this not only because our community needs an honest and dependable voice in Congress, but because our families deserve to feel safe.

Ahead of our first quarterly reporting deadline of the year, I'm reaching out personally to ask: will you support my pro-safety campaign with a donation of any amount toward my End of Quarter Fundraising Goal? [link removed]

Thank you,
Emily Busch
