I hope you and your families are staying healthy and safe.

John,

I hope you and your families are staying healthy and safe.

Today is not only the first day of April. It is also Census Day!

What is "Census Day" you might ask? By today, April 1, you should have received your invitation to participate in the 2020 Census, which you can respond to one of three ways: online, by phone, or by mail. It’s never been easier!

Today, more than ever, it is important that the federal government has an accurate count of everyone living in the country and the most up-to-date information about the communities in which we live.

Why? Well, the 2020 Census will determine how your taxpayer dollars are distributed by the government for the next ten years! Over the next decade, critical funding decisions will be made based on the information you fill out on the 2020 Census questionnaire. Those decisions will affect how the things that we all care about are funded: our children's schools, the roads and bridges we all rely on, our community libraries, and our critical emergency services.

It’s why I’m asking you to do your part today and ensure that your voice -- and the voices of your loved ones -- are heard in the 2020 Census.

Can you take ten minutes today to fill out the census? And can remind at least one friend or family member to fill it out, too?
