Dear John,

No one should live in fear of being torn from their families and communities. But right now, hundreds of thousands of people who came to the U.S. as children could face deportation under President Trump’s efforts to end Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA).

Tell your senators: Pass the Dream and Promise Act—and reject any provisions that would make relief for DACA recipients dependent on increased funding for detention, deportation, or the militarization of border communities.

The House has already passed protections for DACA recipients and undocumented youth--but we need the Senate to act, as well. And they must do so without adding funds for Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) or Customs and Border Protection (CBP), agencies with a long track record of terrorizing communities, locking people up in deadly conditions, and tearing families apart.

The Supreme Court is expected to announce its decision on DACA between now and the end of April—adding even more urgency to the situation.

Now is the time for Congress to act! Please join AFSC, Daily Kos, and others across the country in sending a message to your senators today!

Thank you for standing in solidarity with DACA recipients and with all people in our communities who are at risk of detention and deportation.

With gratitude,

Peniel Ibe
