John—
We’re thrilled to announce that after the success of last year’s gathering, we’re hosting the second annual Community Violence Intervention Conference in Los Angeles this June!
Community violence is one of the most prevalent drivers of the gun violence epidemic. The burden of this violence tends to fall hardest on Black and Latino residents, who are disproportionately impacted by shootings. In 2022, we launched GIFFORDS Center for Violence Intervention to champion the community organizations working to save lives on the ground, and since then our team has been researching and promoting CVI strategies, connecting stakeholders, and helping secure funding for CVI programs nationwide.
One of our first acts was to host the inaugural CVI Conference last year to bring together thought leaders in the violence intervention field. More than 600 experts and practitioners joined us to share best practices for stopping shootings before they happen.
