I need you to understand that in just under 72 hours, our campaign will face its first public FEC reporting deadline of the election year.

Everyone from Rick Scott to Mitch McConnell to cable news pundits will want to see what we raise — and they will use it to judge our movement's strength.

I'm telling you this because I just left my last finance meeting before the Sunday night deadline. Full disclosure: My finance director says we've still got a $34,105 gap to close our $700,000 goal — and as of this morning, the rate donations are coming in will not be enough to close it in time.

To put it plainly, we cannot afford to fall short here. Rick Scott is one of the richest senators in the country. He can cut himself a massive check whenever he wants.

I'm not a megamillionaire like Scott, friend, and this people-powered campaign relies on grassroots donations from supporters like you. And winning this November will come down to staying on top of even our most ambitious grassroots goals.

At this team's most important fundraising deadline to date, our fundraising numbers this quarter will set the tone for the rest of this race. So please, help me make up the shortfall with your donation of $5 or more to ensure we can stay on track to retire Rick Scott, flip Florida blue, and save our Senate majority.
