And every day I see firsthand just how much the extreme, conservative members of the GOP have taken hold and compromised the work of our government. For six months, these members held our House hostage and prevented Congress from passing a full and complete budget that would let us move on to other vital issues. They have wasted our time and created so much chaos and dysfunction that members of their own party, who came to Washington to help working families, are choosing to leave their roles before their terms are over. This Congress has been the least effective in modern history because of this faction, and the only way for our government to start working again is for voters to help us elect a Democratic Majority to provide real, needed leadership to our House.
