This week, Rep. Barry Loudermilk (GA-11) joined Rep. Virginia Foxx (NC-5) as a cosponsor of H.R. 6951, the College Cost Reduction Act, legislation that provides a comprehensive solution to lower rising college costs for students and their families.

IN THE NEWS: Blaze Media investigation triggers congressional inquiry into alleged Capitol Police perjury

Blaze Media:

Blaze Media investigation has triggered a congressional inquiry into alleged U.S. Capitol Police perjury, according to a Friday analysis by Blaze News investigative journalist Steve Baker.

U.S. Rep. Barry Loudermilk (R-Ga.) — who chairs the Committee on House Administration Subcommittee on Oversight, which has jurisdiction over Capitol Police — penned a March 1 letter to USCP Chief J. Thomas Manger, Baker noted.

The four-page missive demanded two things: more complete information about a 2016 disciplinary report concerning Special Agent David Lazarus — and details about an internal affairs investigation of Lazarus last November that stemmed directly from Blaze Media’s reporting, Baker wrote.

Loudermilk's letter notes that on Nov. 7, 2023, Lazarus was referred to the USCP Office of Professional Responsibility "for allegedly not being truthful in testimony in a high-profile criminal court case involving an incident in the Capitol building on January 6, 2021."

IN THE NEWS: Kash Patel claims he was smeared by the January 6 committee for backing Trump's claims he authorized the National Guard

Daily Mail:

Kash Patel has faced a years-long smear campaign aimed at discrediting his testimony to the Select Committee investigating January 6 that he claims proves Donald Trump did not engage in insurrection.

Central to the panel's argument that Trump incited the Capitol riot and is an 'insurrectionist' is their finding that he did not 'deploy' the National Guard to Washington, D.C. as his supporters descended on the Capitol.

But Patel testified, and reiterated to the DailyMail in an interview, that Trump did verbally authorize National Guard deployment during an Oval Office meeting on January 3, 2021 – three days before the now infamous riot.

.......

Ornato said, according to the newly released testimony, that Bowser declined the offer for troops, claiming she had enough help with National Guard members mobilized to act in a limited capacity under Metro Police Department direction.

The testimony from Ornato was first reported by The Federalist's Mollie Hemingway and was later released in full by House Administration's Subcommittee on Oversight Chairman Rep. Barry Loudermilk earlier this month.
