While it can be easy to become angry and disillusioned, Emily is motivated to make change. She’s committed to bringing the voices of those who are too-often ignored — like queer folks, communities of color, and working-class neighbors — into the halls of power. After years of work, marriage equality became the law of the land, and Emily and I got married last August! But the attacks continue. Those same cynical politicians are now using their power to bully queer and trans kids.
