My Dear Brothers and
Sisters,
In these trying times, when
the political arena is starkly divided by those who prioritize profit
over our people and this beautiful planet, we find ourselves at a
crossroads. The choice they present us with – akin to
selecting between civil war and genocide, between embracing fear or
harboring hate, between fostering hostility or breeding indifference –
is a false dichotomy that seeks to undermine the very fabric of our
collective humanity.
My heart grows heavy as we bear
witness to the relentless march of aggression, greed, and
exploitation, leaving indelible scars on the souls of our global
family.
Summon the Courage of a True
Progressive
I invite you, with open arms and an open heart, to envision
a new paradigm with us.
Let's collectively cultivate a
vision that's truly progressive – one that honors our fellow human beings,
both at home and across the globe.
-
Progress, my friends,
begins with a resolute rejection of these false dichotomies. It's
rooted in division, hate, fear, and greed. Together, we stand united
in our commitment to the universal truths of equality, the inherent
dignity of every human life, social justice, and the power of
goodwill.
-
Progress is about
imagining the realm of possibilities – not confining ourselves to what
the status quo dictates. It's a societal commitment to push forward in
solidarity until every last one of us is free from the chains of
injustice, exploitation, or violence.
-
Progress demands that
we hold our leaders accountable, regardless of their political
stripes, especially when the stakes involve the lives and futures of
entire communities and cultures.
-
Progress requires an
outright rejection of cynicism and the sense of futility, refusing to
engage in the toxic practice of choosing the “lesser evil” when all
options laid before us involve the dehumanization and suffering of our
brothers and sisters – whether they're at our militarized borders,
within our neglected neighborhoods, or victims of our deadly
interventions abroad.
-
Progress will not
allow us to be misled into viewing independent voices as adversaries.
The rhetoric that urges us not to “split the vote” between two
fundamentally flawed options is not the language of the liberated or
the brave.
-
Progress means we
move past the tired fears of “splitting the vote.” A new generation of
voters is outright rejecting these false choices, and disenfranchised
communities are now mobilizing to dismantle a system that has long
failed to represent the interests of the people.
At this pivotal moment, both choices offered by the
corporate-backed duopoly stand in stark opposition to the moral
compass that guides most Americans.
In these moments of reflection, I
humbly ask you to stand with us:
