That’s when she saw a fully-grown man in a women’s bathing suit watching two little girls as they undressed.
The children appeared to be around four and six years old, and Julie believed she may be witnessing a predator in action.
Julie did what any reasonable grandmother would do. She confronted the man and asked him to leave.
But instead of putting Julie’s concerns to rest, YMCA staff rushed in and began berating Julie for her “discriminatory” response to a man (who identifies as a woman) helping little girls undress.
On the spot, the YMCA banned Julie from that YMCA for life, the police were called to kick her out of the building, and THEN the YMCA launched a sophisticated smear campaign to paint Julie as a bigot and transphobe in her community.
What on earth are we doing as a country when a grandmother trying to protect children becomes public enemy #1?
Now you can see why I’m asking you to make a tax-deductible donation of $35 or more to help us prepare for Julie’s case.
My name is Harmeet Dhillon and I am the founder and Chief Executive Officer of the Center for American Liberty – the conservative non-profit organization underwriting Julie’s case.
The way the YMCA treated a concerned grandmother isn’t just outrageous – it’s unconstitutional.
Like you, Julie has a First Amendment right to speak her mind no matter who disagrees with it.
And like you, she has a Fourteenth Amendment right to due process – something the YMCA working with the City of Port Townsend – neglected when they banned Julie for life without even hearing her side of the story.
In response to this blatant disregard for the Constitution, the Center for American Liberty sent a demand letter to the YMCA and the City of Port Townsend on Julie’s behalf threatening a lawsuit if Julie’s lifetime ban is not immediately lifted.
I don’t know how the YMCA will respond to our warning. But I do know that we can’t stay silent as the Left attacks our most basic freedoms.
Here at the Center for American Liberty, our unique strategy is taking down the Left. In fact, we have already won THREE Supreme Court cases.
The Center for American Liberty is honored to fight in the courts to protect your freedom to say what you want, to live according to your conscience, and to pass on your conservative values to the next generation. But we need your help.
If the YMCA and Port Townsend decide to stand their ground, we are going to have a major First and Fourteenth Amendment battle on our hands that impacts freedom for all of us.
No doubt, giant liberal groups like the ACLU will try to join the fray in a high-profile case like this and try to intimidate us.
We must have resources ready to go when that day comes.
That’s where you come in.
Can I count on you to make a tax-deductible donation of $35 or more right away?
If the YMCA and Port Townsend come to their senses, reinstate Julie’s membership, and we don’t have to take them to court – know that the Center for American Liberty will use your generous gift to win our other cases defending religious liberty, fighting to stop government censorship of conservatives, protecting parental rights and of course, defeating the radical transgender agenda.
No matter what, I am counting on you to help us keep fighting the radical Left and its disgusting attacks on our children, our freedoms, and our Constitutional rights.
Thank you in advance for your generous support.
God Bless,
