We’re here to share pivotal insights that demand our collective attention, Friend. Our latest research brief, "Sexual Assault Victimization among LGBTQ+ Young People," ([link removed](i.e.e-newsletter)&utm_source=emailsegment-wholefile2&utm_campaign=generaleffort) sheds light on a deeply concerning issue that intersects with our mission to end suicide among LGBTQ+ young people.

The statistics are alarming: LGBTQ+ young people face significantly higher rates of sexual violence than their peers. Nearly two in five LGBTQ+ youth (39%) report being coerced into unwanted "sexual things." These numbers paint a sobering picture of the challenges many LGBTQ+ young people face in their daily lives.

Digging deeper into the data reveals an even more troubling connection. Sexual violence is associated with a significantly higher suicide risk among LGBTQ+ young people. Those who have experienced forced sexual contact are more than twice as likely to seriously consider suicide in the past year. This stark reality highlights the urgent need for action to address both sexual violence and mental health concerns within our community.
