I was going to send a quick email today, but I don't think I could say it any better than Kyrstin did in her recent email.

Be sure to give her email a read to learn more about what the School Board Integrity Project is and what we're doing. Then, please, make a contribution before our deadline on Sunday night to help us elect School Boards that support a student's Freedom to Learn.

Thank you,
Kelli Carlson

Subject: Freedom to Learn

Friends -

The School Board Integrity Project is all about one thing: The Freedom to Learn.

That means the freedom from harassment for being who you are, freedom from having someone else's religious beliefs forced upon you or used to shape your learning experience, and the freedom to read and learn about any age appropriate topics.

Unfortunately, none of these freedoms are a given in Minnesota schools.

We need to fight back, and that's why I founded the School Board Integrity Project last year.

Now, at our first deadline of this big election year, I'm counting on you to help us show our power. Before we close the books on this quarter on Sunday at midnight, we need you to step up and give!

It's crucial that our opponents know we're coming for them this year and that our allies know that we've got their backs.

Running for school board isn't easy. It's non-partisan, so there's no natural allies for candidates, and extreme candidates will do and say horrible things to try to win.

We come in and make sure that candidates who share our progressive values have the training and support they need to win.

Thank you,

Kyrstin Schuette
