Hi y’all,

My team shared the first public poll of our North Carolina Lieutenant Governor’s race with me. It suggests that I’m starting this race down 3% to our (yet to be decided) Republican opponent: 34% to 37%.

Would I have liked the first poll to show me leading? Sure. Am I surprised or disheartened by this finding? Not even a little.

We’ve known from the very beginning that this race will be decided by just a few percentage points — and that flipping this seat won’t be easy. There are still over 7 months until Election Day, and what matters is how we use each and every day given to us.

I’ll share more, but if you’re ready to split a donation so the DLGA and I can close this gap and win this race, here’s a link: [link removed] [[link removed]]

Even though this poll says we’re down, I came away from reading it as confident as ever that we’re going to win this election. That’s because it confirms what we’ve been saying all along: Most North Carolinians will not tolerate Republicans’ attacks on our fundamental freedoms.

From CBS 17’s poll analysis:

When undecided voters hear that I will work my head off to defend reproductive rights — while my MAGA opponents push for a full abortion ban — they back our campaign by a big margin.

So here’s what we need to do: We need to reach out to every single undecided voter in North Carolina, and we need to remind them what’s at stake for North Carolina’s women and families on November 5th.

We’ll do that by knocking on doors, running smart ads, building strong relationships with local leaders, and generally outworking our opponents every single day. That’s how I won my first race for the state legislature, when I flipped a GOP seat in a “Trump +9” district, and it’s how we’ll win again this November.

It’s going to take a strong team and a lot of resources, and that’s why I’m personally asking for your support: Can you please split a donation between my campaign and the DLGA to close this 3% gap and reach as many voters as we possibly can? [[link removed]]

If you've stored your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will process immediately and be split between Rachel Hunt and the DLGA.

Our plan is strong and our path to victory clear, but whether we have the resources to compete at the level we need is to be determined. Please chip in if you’re able.

Thanks so much for everything you do.
