We just increased our grassroots fundraising goal with only a few days to go before the deadline. I’m going to ask you to chip in to help us close the gap in a moment, but first I want to explain why.

Earlier this month, we made a difficult decision. We decided to increase our March advertising budget so we could go up with our first campaign ads as soon as possible. The money wasn’t in the budget, but I gave the green light anyway.

Why? Because Eric Hovde had been flooding Wisconsin’s airwaves for weeks. He’s already spent $3.4 million on campaign ads.

His strategy is working too, with one of the first polls since he announced his campaign showing this race TIED.

Hovde has pledged to spend at least $20 million of his own personal fortune to flip this seat red, and he’s on track to spend even more than that.

Whoever has more resources will likely win this election. That’s why we needed to raise our fundraising goal.

So today, before our first public fundraising deadline of the year, I’m hoping you can help us close the gap and reach our target.
