The Lincoln Project

Friend,

As we approach the end of the first quarter, I've been taking stock of everything we have been doing on the Lincoln Project pirate ship and wanted to share some of my thoughts about where we are and where we have to go.

I say "have to go" because it's abundantly clear to everyone that the work we've put in to damage Trump is working, and the only way we're gonna beat him like a mule this November is if we double down. You've probably figured out by now that this is a Serious Rick Email (tm). But just wait.

We've dropped some of our best ever ads since the beginning of the year. God Made A Dictator. Fred. Hero. And we've deployed them in ways that have made a huge impact. Hero inspired nearly 10,000 new members of the pro-democracy coalition to join our pirate ship. God Made A Dictator hurt Trump in New Hampshire and threw his campaign into chaos. (His rants told us we hit the mark.) And he's still seething about Fred.

I have seen dozens of replies to our emails asking, "Where are these ads going?" Yes, I really do read the inbox. Some of the replies are not fit to print here. There are triggered Trumpies on our list, and boy, does it feel good.

But you - the people growing our movement every day and making it possible for us to produce these ads and put them in front of voters - have a lot of valid questions. Especially after "In Your Face" - based on your reaction to that one, I had the team get together and create a plan I think you're really going to like.

That's why I'm really, really excited about what we're launching next week. It's a full commitment to making sure the most critical voters in the vital states see our ads from now until the election. That's all I'll say right now. We're still ironing out a few details and making sure we have the juice to keep this thing going.

Normally, deadlines like the March 31st FEC deadline don't mean a ton for our day to day. It's why most of the time you don't see emails from us begging for three more dollars before midnight or the sky will fall. But this time, we're loading up and making sure what we do starting April 1 lasts until November 5. If you're able, please pitch in - and we'll make next week's launch even more effective.

Like I said last week. If you go to a gunfight with a “Live, Laugh, Love” throw pillow, it's over.

Next week, we're bringing a howitzer. 🏴‍☠️

-Rick
