This month was Women’s History Month. It also marked a new, dark chapter for reproductive rights. The irony is not lost upon us, but here’s the deal: we absolutely cannot let extremists feed off of momentum from the Alabama ruling on IVF and the continued attacks on abortion ahead of the 2024 election.
Instead, we are doubling down to make sure we have the resources to elect pro-choice Democratic moms running to beat extremists.
Our team at Vote Mama worked hard in January and February to screen candidates and fundraise to earn every dollar possible so that we could make endorsements early in the election cycle.
This month, we rolled out our first set of endorsements, supporting pro-choice Democratic mamas up and down the ballot and focusing on mamas who are ready to WIN tough seats.
Arizona.
Georgia.
Michigan.
Pennsylvania.
We want to have the biggest impact possible, so we made early, targeted endorsements and focused on endorsing strong slates of Democratic mamas in these four battleground states. We’re also supporting 10 congressional candidates who are running to FLIP their seats from red-to- blue — and our endorsed mamas could be the tipping point for Democrats to regain control of Congress.
Having sharp candidates, and maximizing funds makes a world of difference. We are stepping up and running strong mamas who we know can win, but they don’t have deep pockets.
Our candidates rely on early grassroots dollars to fuel their campaigns in the months ahead leading up to November. This is why our strategy and the support we send them is so critical.
Unfortunately, it looks like we may come up short on our March goal, which also means we are coming in behind where we want to be for the entire first quarter... This is NOT good, John.
Now that endorsements are out, our mom candidates are really counting on us to make good on our commitments of support, so it’s important that we quickly course correct these fundraising numbers -- before our FIRST end-of-quarter deadline of 2024 this weekend.
