Francis Scott Key Bridge

My heart breaks for those impacted by the collapse of the Francis Scott Key Bridge in Baltimore, MD on Tuesday.

A cargo ship lost power and struck the bridge which caused it to collapse and sent 6 construction workers into the water below.

Please join me in keeping each family impacted in our prayers.

Biden's Housing Affordability Crisis

Yesterday, I joined Energy & Commerce Committee Chair Rodgers in exerting oversight on the Department of Energy’s new building codes that will make it harder for Americans to afford a home or pay their utility bills.

Biden’s policies have already destroyed the American dream of home ownership. Now, his administration is doubling down and continuing the housing affordability crisis.

Old Glory Only

Last week, I voted against the Swamp Omnibus that failed to stop America’s out-of-control spending. However, I'm pleased it included a version of my bill the Old Glory Only Act that bans the flying of the pride and Black Lives Matter flags over diplomatic posts and consulates.

Only the American flag represents our great Nation, and only Old Glory should fly atop our consulates and diplomatic posts.

Energy Independence

Last week, I went to the House Floor to call out the anti-American policies of the Biden administration.

A winning strategy for America is energy independence—producing, delivering, utilizing, and exporting American energy.

Joe Biden's failed strategy is energy dependence on Saudi Arabia, OPEC, China, and Russia.

In fact, Biden's policies have done ZERO to increase oil and gas production in America. American oil and gas production is at an all-time high today because of the policies of the states themselves and the Trump administration.

Bidenomics

Biden and the Democrats have nearly stopped using “Bidenomics” to describe the economy as reported by Axios.

The reason why is simple. Americans are struggling to put food on the table and pay their mortgage due to inflation caused by Joe Biden’s policies.

Bidenomics and Biden’s misnamed Inflation Reduction Act failed, and Americans are worse off now than before Biden took office.

Build the Wall

According to a recent Harvard Harris Poll, the number one concern for Americans is immigration.

Biden’s Border Crisis means America is being invaded at record pace and illegals kill Americans like Laken Riley. Illegals are swarming America, attacking our National Guard, taking social security benefits from Americans, and much more.

It’s time to build the wall and secure the border.

The Left Targets Trump

Former President Trump was the target of efforts to hurt him financially and tie up funds to keep him from having access to his own cash should he need to fund his campaign for President.

My biggest issue here is that no one was harmed. There was no crime committed. No bank lost money—they actually made money.

Just look at the difference in the bond set for Bernie Madoff who defrauded thousands vs. President Trump who committed no crime.

It's my opinion that NY laws need to be changed.

100% Conservative Record

I’m proud to be the only Member of the South Carolina Legislative Delegation to receive a 100% score from CPAC’s Center for Legislative Accountability in 2023 for voting consistently with conservative principles.

I will always stand with conservatives and fight the radical, woke liberals in Washington.

Good Friday

I’m thankful for a perfect Savior who chose to sacrificially bear our sins and give His life so that we can have salvation. It wasn’t enough to bear our sins, the good news is Christ overcame death and sin when He rose from the grave 3 days later.

I look forward to reflecting on the good news of Easter and a living Savior this weekend.

Legislative Action

I cosponsored H.R.7404, Rep. Crane’s bill that requires annual reports to Congress on countering cross-border tunnel operations.

I cosponsored H.R.7399, Rep. Van Drew’s bill that eliminates the U.S. Census Bureau’s American Community Survey.

I cosponsored H.R.7392, Rep. Steube’s bill to prohibit future funding of the UNRWA and redirect already allocated funding for the program towards constructing a southwestern border wall.

I cosponsored H.R.7476, Rep. Hern’s bill that holds the Chinese Communist Party accountable for unfair trade practices, ends normal trade relations with the People’s Republic of China, and establishes new authorities to hold Chinese officials accountable for the spread of fentanyl poisoning in the United States.

I cosponsored H.R.7455, Rep. Emmer’s bill that establishes a 10-year expiration date for all major rules created by the executive branch, unless otherwise approved for extension by both chambers of Congress

I cosponsored H.R.7514, Rep. Fulcher’s to require U.S. Veterans Administration to waive certain requirements in the Build America, Buy America act for pre-approved state veteran home projects

In the District

Congratulations to the SC House GOP Caucus on passing H.4289 to fight back on woke diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) policies being forced on students and staff at South Carolina colleges and universities.

Upcountry Fiber, a partnership between Blue Ridge Electric Cooperative and WCFIBER, announced this week a $17,752,301 project to bring broadband to rural and underserved parts of Pickens county.

Spring turkey season is opening on April 1 in South Carolina. I hope all my fellow hunters have seen some gobblers on your trail cams. Good luck on opening day, and I hope you drop some gobblers!
