Hi John, this is Peter Welch, U.S. Senator from the great state of Vermont.
I’ve spent the better part of my life serving Vermonters — first in the state senate, then in the U.S. House of Representatives, and now as a U.S. Senator. So when Becca Balint ran for my old congressional seat, I knew Vermonters would be in good hands.
In her first term in Congress, she has emerged as a top leader in Congress on affordable housing, mental health, reproductive rights, and more – which is why I am proud to endorse Becca for re-election.
Becca made history in 2022 when she became the first woman and the first openly LGTBQ+ person ever elected to serve Vermont in Congress, two milestones that were long overdue. She ran on a platform of courage and kindness, because when we turn toward each other, there’s nothing we can’t achieve.
John, now more than ever, we need leaders who exemplify courage and kindness. We need Becca Balint in the U.S. House of Representatives.
