We hope you are staying safe and healthy. We know many New Yorkers are concerned about the health and the economic impacts of the Coronavirus, and we encourage you to call 311 with any questions or needs you have.


In this challenging time, we’re pleased to let you know about something positive you can do for your community from inside your home.
Today is Census Day and New Yorkers like you can complete the census right now - online.
As you may know, the more of us who fill out the census, the more federal funding and attention we get for our communities.

And this year it's easier than ever to fill out the census -- you can fill it out in a few minutes online at my2020census.gov ([link removed]) or over the phone at 844-330-2020.


You also can encourage your fellow New Yorkers to fill out the census by receiving updates from the Brooklyn NAACP ([link removed]) , and by joining them tonight from 5 PM to 10 PM for a Census 2020 Virtual Block Party!

2. Hi friends! Today is Census Day. So it’s Census challenge time!

First, if you haven’t done the Census yet, go towww.my2020census.gov ([link removed]) now. It’s fast, easy, and safe! Next, Copy & Paste this post, say why the Census matters to you, and Tag 5 friends to do the same.

I filled out my Census because _________________. (Examples: I care about public education; I want my hospital to have enough staff and supplies; my community needs a new bus route; my grandparents rely on a lunch program; I believe in affordable housing; we need more healthcare access).

Brooklyn has the lowest Census response rate in the city right now (23%), and is lagging behind the rest of the country (34.7%). That means we could lose Congressional representation, and 100s of Billions of dollars for OUR schools, hospitals, and affordable housing for the next TEN YEARS. But together we can change that!
