Headline

John, a little while ago, a federal court ruled that South Carolina must move forward with its current district lines – including here in SC-01.

First, I respect the rule of law and our justice system – always. But, I need to make myself clear: this decision is coming from the same court that ruled South Carolina's maps were racially gerrymandered. For this court to then allow them to proceed is a disservice to justice and South Carolina voters.

The Trump-appointed Supreme Court has dragged its feet on a decision, which has landed us in a "temporary map" situation – our existing map may only be used for one election. (If it seems absurd to you, it's because it is!)

But listen, this race has always been about running an honest campaign that offers the Lowcountry a sensible alternative to Nancy Mace's extremism and the stunts she pulls in Congress. This district deserves a leader who is focused more on solutions than the spotlight – and that's why I'm running.

We have a plan to win in November, and it involves every last ounce of grassroots support we can muster. Defeating Donald Trump's protege won't be a walk in the park, but we've already shown we can get it done with your support.

Our fight hasn't changed with this ruling nor has my resolve to restore real leadership to this district. I'm more determined than ever to defeat Nancy Mace, flip SC-01 blue, and return the House majority to Democrats. Will you please rush a contribution of $25 or more to help me do just that?
