Thank you for sustaining this work! Dear John, As the first quarter of 2024 comes to a close, we at PRA are excited to share some of our latest highlights with you below. We also hope you consider generously supporting our staff's crucial work to block authoritarianism and build just, inclusive democracy in this particularly contentious year. Help block antidemocractic forces today Building Movement Strategy Highlight: Challenging Christian Zionism PRA took the lead in convening over a dozen movement organizations to strategize to counter Christian Zionism, the largest authoritarian movement in the U.S. pushing for unconditional American support of Netanyahu's assault on Gaza. Though it may seem counterintuitive, Christian Zionism is likely also the largest anti-Jewish movement in the US. PRA is working closely with Christians for a Free Palestine to challenge the anti-Muslim, anti-Palestinian, anti-Arab and anti-Jewish agendas of Christian Zionism . Stay tuned for PRA's Christian Zionism 101 and Christian Zionism timeline to be published shortly. Creating More Accessible Resources: Countering Violent Extremism (CVE) 101 In order to make PRA's analysis more accessible, we have been creating shorter '101' resources on a variety of topics, including the anti-LGBTQ movement, Dominionism, and right-wing sheriffs. This quarter, PRA published our Countering Violent Extremism (CVE) 101, which breaks down the domestic counterterrorism strategy launched by the Obama administration that further targets Black, Arab, Middle Eastern, Muslim, South Asian, and other communities already at risk of harm from the Right. Read more about how CVE works and its impact on the American public broadly. Multimedia Offerings: PRA's Podcast, "Inform Your Resistance" launches Season 2 After completing Season 1 of our podcast this fall, PRA launched Season 2 in late January, covering a range of topics related to democracy including: Anti-Trans Legislation, Hindu Nationalism, Male Supremacism, and Project 2025, a Right-wing autocratic strategy led by former Trump officials. The podcast is part of PRA's broader strategy to offer accessible multimedia resources to unveil the vast ecosystem of authoritarian forces in the US. Will you give today to continue this work? These are only a few of the many highlights from our work this quarter; we also relaunched PRA's award-winning magazine The Public Eye, convened leading scholars for our second webinar on the powerful New Apostolic Reformation movement, and organized and attended convenings to counter authoritarianism from Atlanta to D.C., New Orleans, Oakland, and elsewhere. If you would like to learn more, please do not hesitate to get in touch with us at [email protected]. Thank you for supporting PRA's work to block authoritarianism and build just democracy.
