Tuesday's arguments were a repeat of what happened when this case was first heard by Judge Matthew Kacsmaryk—a Trump-appointed judge whose nomination we opposed and who has issued many anti-immigrant, anti-LGBTQ, and anti-contraception opinions. Two of the key studies Kacsmaryk cited in his ruling to severely restrict mifepristone have since been retracted because of unreliable findings.

We're preparing to fight back no matter what the Supreme Court decides—but it's not enough to just be reactive to anti-abortion extremists' attacks on our fundamental freedoms. We have to work proactively to keep extremist judges like Samuel Alito and Mattew Kacsmaryk from ever being nominated in the first place.

Donald Trump appointed the Supreme Court justices that solidified the anti-abortion majority needed to overturn Roe v. Wade—and he appointed extremists like Kacsmaryk to courts all across the country. We have to make sure he doesn't get the chance to stack the courts even further.
