Hi John,
At the end of this email, I’m going to ask you to chip in $5 to my campaign before our end-of-quarter deadline. But first, I hope you’ll read through this email.
In 2010, President Barack Obama nominated me to be a U.S. Attorney for the state of Colorado.
It was an honor to be nominated, and after being unanimously confirmed by the U.S. Senate, I got to work.
I pursued cases that helped return billions of dollars to American taxpayers, from bringing a case against Citibank for its role in the Great Recession to pursuing legal action against pharmaceutical companies that harm people through opioid painkillers.
It was a job I took great pride in, but I knew that there was still work to be done right here in Denver.
Today, our community is facing serious public safety challenges. Violent crime – and gun crime – remains higher than five and ten years ago. Property crime and car theft remain at near-record levels and disproportionately impact our working families. The fentanyl drug epidemic traps too many people in addiction and life on the streets.
That’s why I am committed to making sure our criminal justice system is more fair and more just for everyone – while ensuring that the District Attorney’s office has the resources to provide efficient and effective prosecution to protect our entire community.
However, in order to make that happen, I need your support. Can you chip in today and help me hit my end-of-quarter fundraising goal? Even just $3 helps >>
Together, we can build a safer Denver.
