What a week!
If you’ve been following us on Twitter (@AZGOP) or Facebook (@ArizonaGOP) you probably have noticed that there’s
been a lot of action happening at the Republican Party of Arizona. But
let’s do a quick recap for those of you who aren’t on social media
(another good way to stay involved is signing you or your friends up to
receive our email updates – you can do that here: www.azgop.com):
SUPPORT THE
REPUBLICAN PARTY OF ARIZONA
2019 MOHAVE COUNTY REPUBLICAN PICNIC
From left to right: Arizona State Senator District 5 Sonny Borrelli,
Arizona State Representatives District 5 Regina Cobb and Leo Biasiucci, and
U.S. Congressman for Arizona’s Fourth Congressional District Dr. Paul
Gosar.
Last weekend, we traveled north to Mohave County Park in the Hualapai
Mountains for Mohave County’s annual Republican Picnic celebration! There
was tremendous turnout, with over 300 people in attendance who were all
fired up to keep Arizona red in 2020. Thank you to everyone in Mohave
County for an amazing event!

LADIES HAPPY HOUR WITH SENATOR MARTHA MCSALLY
A crowd of about 400 Arizonans gathered Wednesday at the Phoenix Airport
Marriott for an all-access “Ladies Happy Hour” event with Arizona U.S.
Senator Martha McSally. The event was organized by the Republican Party of
Arizona and its host committee: Governor Jan Brewer, Congresswoman Debbie
Lesko, Senate President Karen Fann, Maricopa County Chairwoman Rae
Chornenky, Mrs. Cindy Biggs, Mrs. Joyce Schweikert, and Mrs. Maude
Gosar.
Sen. McSally fired up the crowd with a rousing speech, urging the hundreds
of guests in attendance to get involved and look for opportunities to
volunteer and support Republican efforts in Arizona ahead of the upcoming
2020 election.

TUCSON SANCTUARY CITY BALLOT INIATIVE UPDATE MEETING
On Thursday, a meeting was held to update and thank the
120+ Republicans who worked on the Tucson Sanctuary City petition
signature verification project under the direction of Benny White and Karen
Schutte. Volunteers from across the state jumped in to help keep this
initiative off the November ballot, checking all 12,402 signatures with the
use of Campaign Sidekick.
The Pima County Republican Party, led by Chairman David Eppihimer, has
filed a lawsuit in hopes of stopping this initiative from reaching the
ballot. A first court hearing is scheduled for Monday, August 12 in Tucson
at the Superior Court. We thank all those who worked so diligently on this
effort. Pictured above are some of the volunteers who attended the update
meeting.

GILA COUNTY REAGAN DINNER
We journeyed up to Payson, AZ on Friday for Gila County’s annual
Republican Reagan Day Dinner. Gila County Republican Chairman Gary Morris
always does a fantastic job organizing the event and scheduling speakers
– and this year was no exception! Congressman Paul Gosar (CD4), National
Border Patrol Council Vice President Art Del Cueto, and I all had the
pleasure of speaking to a packed crowd of around 200 Republicans.
The dinner always presents a great opportunity to connect with local
elected officials, candidates for office, and longtime party activists;
update voters on party activities; and remember and honor our 40th
President, Ronald Reagan.

YAVAPAI COUNTY VOTER REGISTRATION WALK
To close out the week, yesterday we held our first Republican precinct walk
using Campaign Sidekick. Yavapai County Republican Party, led by
Chairwoman Donna Tanzi, and with help from Paul Carey and John Tanzi, did a
tremendous job preparing and organizing for this event! It wouldn’t have
been nearly as successful without all their time and hard work.
Also, a big shout out to AZGOP Executive Director Leslie White, Political
Director Mike Shaw, and the entire Trump Victory team for making the trip
to Prescott Valley to help support our local precinct committeemen. Our
team is fired up to win big in 2020!
We’re truly all in this together. Thank you for standing with us to save
our state, fight for freedom, and keep America great!
Warmly,
Dr. Kelli Ward
Chairman
