# [#]John,

In a moment, I’m going to ask you to donate a few dollars to my campaign. I know you’re probably receiving a lot of similar emails this week, but I hope you’ll read on to understand why this Sunday’s FEC deadline is so important.

Now, if you’ve been on our team for a while, you know that I don’t ask for donations very often. I prefer to provide supporters like you with substantive updates on my work in Congress and in the district, and how we’re advancing our shared mission to uplift every member of our community.

My Democratic colleagues and I have been tirelessly working to protect our progress on everything from clean energy to reproductive freedom, affordable health care, and more. John, I’ve always strived to find bipartisan solutions and work across the aisle whenever possible, but the growing influence of extremism within the GOP House majority has made that challenging, to say the least.

In the past year, we’ve seen Team Extreme desperately try to derail our efforts at every turn. They’ve spent the better part of their time in the majority pushing a radical agenda while fighting with each other like ferrets in a phone booth – and through it all, they’ve failed to get anything done for our communities. One doesn’t need to look any further than last fall’s chaotic Speaker vote, or the multiple times they’ve taken our government to the brink of shutdown to see that Team Extreme is fundamentally incapable of governing.

You can count on me to push back against Team Extreme’s reckless agenda and their endless attempts to obstruct, threaten and bully their way to policy outcomes that the American people do not support.

We can’t stop the GOP from being dysfunctional, but we can stop their dysfunction from devastating our country. Right now, with Republicans holding a narrow majority in the House, our work is mainly defensive as we fight to keep them from unraveling the progress we made in the last Congress. But in just seven months we’ll have a chance to reclaim the House majority and get back on offense, delivering even more bold, transformative wins for our country.

That’s why this Sunday’s FEC deadline is so important, John. Our fundraising totals will be publicly reported for everyone to see, so we must have a strong showing to prove that grassroots activists, progressives, and Americans everywhere are ready to defeat extremism. Can I count on your contribution in this major test of our strength? [[link removed]]DONATE [[link removed]]

Thanks for taking the time to read this message, John. Your support really does make an impact.

Onward,
Jared
