Elections that favor the most powerful political donors. Leaders whose sole interest is enriching themselves and their friends. A government that fails to represent our country's diversity of backgrounds and ideas.

This work is hard, and wins won’t happen overnight — but they will happen. Look no further than my home state of Michigan to see how playing the long game can pay off big time. 

With your support, we fought for years to reform the redistricting process in Michigan, and we won — the independent redistricting commission in place created a fairer map that is already leading to a more representative state legislature. 

Here’s just one example: Under gerrymandered maps, anti-labor groups actually made Michigan (one of the most historically pro-union states in the country!) a so-called "right to work" state. But this year, under the new, fairer maps — the legislature made Michigan the first state in SIX DECADES to scrap this anti-union law. 

I’m proud my home state shows what’s possible when we put fair maps into place — how working towards fairness has real, tangible effects on people’s lives. 

We have a whole lot more work to do, and I hope you’ll be a part of it. Please pitch in before the end-of-quarter deadline to help power it.
