Religious liberty continues to be a contentious issue on the house floor this week as House Republicans brought forward a bill to restore the religious exemption to portions of the Minnesota Human Rights Act. This has been an ongoing issue due to the incongruous definitions of sexuality and gender identity that the majority party made last year. Leaders from various religions have made it clear that this must be fixed in order to protect religious liberty in our state. Unfortunately, the motion was tabled with a bipartisan minority voting to instead take action on Representative Niska?s bill.
As we enter holy week as well as holidays for both the Jewish and Muslim religions it is disheartening to see the beliefs of others pushed aside like this.
During the Easter season, we gather to celebrate the resurrection of our Lord and Savior,?Jesus Christ. His selfless sacrifice on the cross, borne out of boundless love for humanity, remains etched in our hearts. Through His suffering, death, and triumphant return, we find hope, redemption, and the promise of eternal life. As we come together, let us reflect on the profound meaning of Easter. It is a time of renewal, forgiveness, and grace. May this season fill your hearts with joy, peace, and the assurance that we are never alone.
Wishing you all a blessed Easter!
