What you?ll study

Who is it for?

This course is for female leaders in organisations across all sectors who want to develop their capability to be a purpose-driven leader and agent of change. The course is especially relevant for those female leaders in male dominated environments.

This course is for you if you are:

  • In a senior role transitioning into a leadership role
  • Consolidating gains made in a current leadership role
  • Developing your readiness to move into a senior leadership role
  • Developing your leadership capability as an entrepreneurial founder in a growing business.
  • With an emphasis on purpose-driven leadership and being a successful agent of change, this course will also be relevant to senior experts and specialists needing to lead an initiative at an organisational level.

The aims of the course

This course is designed to help you:

  • Explore the role of female leaders as drivers of change, in the context of a complex and turbulent environment
  • Develop your leadership identity through increased self-awareness
  • Develop your understanding of strategic leadership during transformation and change
  • Enhance your confidence and capability as a transformational leader
  • Develop your ability to engage people with your vision and strategy
  • Develop leadership competencies critical for success.

The module will empower you to develop the mindset, confidence, and capability to be a transformational leader during challenging and turbulent times.

Over three days, through masterclasses, workshops, activities, and peer discussions, you will explore topics such as:

As this is a 10-credit Post Graduate Level 7 course you will complete an assignment. This is designed to be practical and applied and help you to critically analyse an issue within your organisation with recommended solutions.

Angel Investor Network

NTU and partners are on a mission to create a new Angel Investor Network coupled with investment ready businesses.

Our?ambition is to foster an inclusive and sustainable funding ecosystem in Nottingham where investors and businesses connect, creating meaningful relationships that extend beyond financial transactions.

The programme is led by the NTU Enterprise Team at Dryden Enterprise Centre in Nottingham City Centre, supported by a range of partners and funded by the?UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF).

Together we?ll create a network for Nottingham that values diversity, celebrates success, and creates lasting connections.

You won?t just be investing; you'll be sharing knowledge and building a supportive group contributing to developing Nottingham's success and growth.

This programme aspires to cultivate an environment where every investor is developing businesses based in Nottingham with investments that are more than numbers; they are the catalysts for positive change.

For SMEs and Aspiring Entrepreneurs

We understand that exploring funding, finance and investment can be daunting, especially if you're just starting out. This programme aims to demystify the world of investments for aspiring entrepreneurs, regardless of background, fostering realistic aspirations for venture creation and growth.

  • Advice, coaching and mentoring and workshops for businesses and investors.
  • Creation of a mixed peer network through networking and knowledge-sharing events.
  • Opportunities for businesses to test investment pitches and receive feedback from the investor community.

This event is only open to Nottingham City SME businesses.

This two-day programme takes place on Tuesday 7 and Tuesday 14 May, from 9am to 3pm. Lunch and refreshments will be provided.

The?Innovation Community Lab (ICL)?is a fully funded graduate programme designed to support the professional development of early-career individuals employed by SMEs in Nottingham city. Through a series of interactive sessions, participants from various industries will collaborate to explore and apply tools and techniques aimed at fostering innovation in new products, services, processes, or technologies, ultimately driving business growth.

Who is eligible to attend?

The ICL welcomes graduates that are currently employed by Nottingham City SME businesses.??Please note spaces are limited to one graduate per business due to limited availability, so you are advised to book on early to avoid disappointment.

We are delighted to confirm our guest speaker who will share their invaluable insights on innovation best practices in a smaller enterprise, the benefits, the hurdles, how they overcame them and their innovation success story.?The guest speaker for this cohort will be Richard Ardis from We Are Fulfilment.

Nottingham Workplace Healthy Minds

Nottingham Workplace Healthy Minds want to identify a network of Champions who will take action to raise awareness of mental health in workplaces across the city. Champions will have access to:

  • FREE introductory Mental Health Awareness training
  • Regular communications with the most up-to-date resources and opportunities for supporting mental health and wellbeing provision at work.
  • Support to develop a mental wellbeing action plan tailored to your workplace.
  • An online platform through which Champions can communicate and share resources or good practice.
  • Quarterly network meetings, to include networking, peer support, and opportunities for personal development in areas of special interest related to mental wellbeing.

We are particularly interested in hearing from individuals from small-medium sized businesses (<250 employees) from the construction, hospitality or retail sectors, but this is not essential.

You must be able to attend introductory training on either:

  • Thursday 25th April (1pm-4.30pm)

Local Community Project

Crowdfund Nottingham makes 1st Pledge to Support Local Community Project

Nottingham City Council has pledged ?15,000 capital funds to help create a Wellbeing Hub at the Lenton Centre.?

The funding is part of the UK Shared Prosperity Fund to improve venues, facilities or premises that will be used to support economically inactive and long-term unemployed residents to progress into work (Employment Support fund) or support the development community engagement activities (Community Development fund).

Nottingham City Council?s Workplace Travel Service celebrates milestone and announces new funding stream

After a Government-funded programme which has helped 87 local businesses and other groups to add EV chargers, bike racks, e-bikes and other green travel changes to their sites wrapped up, Nottingham City Council has now secured a new source of funding via the Government?s Local Transport Plan Integrated Transport Block.

That means we?re looking for even more local businesses, groups, charities and public sector organisations to think about what green travel improvements they could benefit from and then apply via our friendly team.
