Dear John,
March 31st will be the biggest test of our campaign to unseat Scott Perry. It’s an important fundraising deadline and the last one before the April 23rd primary election. I wanted to take a moment and lay out to you why I’m the best candidate to beat Scott Perry. That message is below. If you already support my campaign, I am asking for your help one more time to help us reach the most important goal in this campaign so far. Click here to contribute
The stakes in this election couldn’t be higher. Democrats are only a few seats away from control of the U.S. House of Representatives and this seat could be THE deciding race. With everything on the line, I’m asking the voters in PA-10 to remember the work we’ve already done. I’m proud of the race my team and I ran in 2022. We outperformed in a district that was redrawn to be more Republican by the courts. We achieved this with minimal funding and no national democratic support.
As you know, this district is now targeted, which means the nominee will receive support and resources from the national party. If I am the nominee, I’ll be able to build on all of the hard work we did in 2022 and finish the job. I’m the candidate the voters in this district know and trust.
To be successful, I need your help and I’m asking you to support my campaign with a contribution today. Please dig deep and contribute what you can to help us reach our March 31st fundraising goal here.
The nominee we choose in PA-10 matters. Voters have a choice and I am the strongest nominee to take on Scott Perry in November. Voters in this district know me and I have a record of standing up for the values that will be front and center in this election. Along with being a longtime Democrat, I’m a proud pro-choice woman who has spent my career fighting for women’s rights. My work on these issues was recognized by the National Organization for Women when they endorsed my candidacy.
Comprehensive immigration reform is long overdue, and our economy needs it now more than ever. As an immigration attorney and Venezuelan-American, I have seen the results of our broken system up close. As a City Councilwoman, I’ve seen our family farms close and our businesses struggle with the lack of available labor. As a longtime Harrisburg resident, I know how medically underserved we are and what a functioning visa program would mean for bringing specialty doctors, home care workers, and childcare workers into our community.
We have all have witnessed Scott Perry and his allies in Congress block the bipartisan immigration reform bill that could have addressed many of these issues while implementing stringent border security measures. If elected to Congress, I would prioritize fixing our broken immigration system - not playing politics with such an important issue. I am honored that my efforts on these issues were acknowledged through endorsements from CASA in Action, Second Generation, and the Latino Victory Fund. With the support of these organizations, we will be well-positioned to engage and mobilize voters in our district who may not always participate in elections but are concerned about these issues.
Even with the help from these groups and the attention of national Democrats, our campaign will need the resources to get our message out to the voters of PA-10. That is why we’ve set an aggressive March 31st fundraising goal and I’m asking you for your support.
Click here to join our campaign and make a contribution of $100, $50, $25, or whatever you can afford before the March 31st deadline.
With gratitude,
Shamaine
