Emotions have run high against the Democrats' brazen politicization of the federal COVID-19 assistance package. The progressives were not alone in contributing to the fiasco, however. Not only did Republicans allow many of the completely unrelated items to be included in the legislation, but they also rebelled at basic Constitutional requirements for passing such a huge spending bill. Congressman Thomas Massie (R-KY) has been vilified for his insistence that House members do their jobs correctly, but as Chris Jacobs describes, the Republicans along with the Democrats were all too willing to shirk their responsibilities.
