No one really knows its full impact on the human body, but studies show chlormequat is harmful to animals and stays in the environment for a very long time. And right now lawmakers are only seeing corporate-funded science that claims it’s ‘safe’ ...

Here’s what we do know: even very low exposure to chlormequat causes potential reproductive harm and other serious health issues in animals. It’s also very persistent in the environment, and it can be found even where it isn't being sprayed.

Chlormequat isn't approved for use on foods grown in the US, but because of imported wheat used in breakfast foods like Cheerios to Quaker Oats, it's been found in the blood of four out of five people who've been recently tested there.

But there's so much more research and investigation needed to understand and expose the extent of chlormequat’s presence in everyday products we consume and its impact on our health.

This is the first step to stopping this pesticide before it becomes the next glyphosate, saturating our fields and making us sick.
