MAYORKAS IMPEACHMENT ON LIFE SUPPORT: SENATE'S STALLING TACTICS
REVEALED

* Throughout its extensive history, the US Senate has never once
dismissed impeachment charges against an official within its
jurisdiction without the individual resigning beforehand.
* Schumer is likely to attempt to either dismiss the charges against
Mayorkas outright or relegate them to a committee, effectively halting
the process.
* A vote to dismiss the charges requires only a simple majority, as
the filibuster is not in play on impeachment matters.
