Team — do you know my friend Colin Allred?

He's a Texas representative with a proven track record of beating the odds: whether earning a full-ride football scholarship to Baylor, playing in the NFL, becoming a civil rights attorney, or defeating an 11-term GOP incumbent!

And now, he's taking on his biggest challenge of all: kicking Ted Cruz out of the Senate.

As someone who also laced up their tennis shoes and did things when people told me I couldn’t, I’m so happy to lend Colin my support.

But I'm just one person, friend.

Flipping Ted Cruz's seat blue is going to take nothing less than a massive surge of grassroots Democratic support — so I hope you'll split a donation of $5 or more between me and Colin's race in Texas.

But if you're not quite convinced yet, there's three reasons why your support for Colin today is so important:

1. In 2018, Ted Cruz won by less than 3 points, and he's deeply unpopular with Texans. So if anyone has what it takes to end his Senate career, it's Colin — and now is the time!

2. Ted Cruz broke his oath when he helped incite the deadly January 6 insurrection. If he can't serve democracy, he has no business serving in the Senate.

3. After blocking our bill to reaffirm Roe v. Wade, Cruz called pro-choice supporters "thugs." I've heard a lot of offensive things in my time, and this is among the worst.

More than any of that, if Colin defeats Ted Cruz, Democrats are all but guaranteed to defend our Senate majority and keep up the fight to protect reproductive rights and make progress for working families. 

That means from now until Election day, Colin can't lose an ounce of momentum. So please, friend, split $5 or whatever you can between me and Colin to help us flip Texas, save our blue majority, and send Ted packing!
