Hi John,
Hello Portage County friends! The spring election is one week away on Tuesday, April 2! You have plenty of options to vote. You can vote early in-person, return your absentee ballot immediately, or vote in-person on Election Day.
This election, we’ve endorsed candidates for Portage County Board. These candidates are conservation champions and leaders in their communities. They are running strong campaigns that share our values – clean water, clean air, accessible public lands, an equitable democracy, and the pursuit of clean energy.
Portage County families deserve clean drinking water. Due to groundwater pollution from factory farms, many families don’t have it. The current county board is controlled by people who care more about profit than about public health. This April, voters can flip the Portage County Board to a pro-conservation majority that will ensure that all residents have access to clean, safe drinking water. These candidates will work to:
- Ensure everyone has access to safe, clean drinking water
- Cultivate a more transparent government and find common ground with our neighbors
- Build a healthy, thriving community for all
