The United States Census counts everyone in the country every ten years, and your response is important to bringing our fair share of more than $675 BILLION to the Oswego community.
Want a shorter commute? Census results influence highway planning and construction, as well as grants for buses, trains, and other public transit systems.
Want better schools? Census results help determine how money is spent for grants that support teachers and special education.
Fearing unemployment? Census data is used to allocate unemployment insurance funds to different states.
Pell grants for college kids, foster care services, outreach to disabled veterans, grants to prevent violence against women, and so many other federally funded programs use Census data to determine how much money should be allocated to each state and community. And it determines how many members of Congress we get, too.
