Across the country—and especially here in Houston—we are watching March Madness, cheering on our teams, inspired by their heart and their skills.
In Washington, it’s March Madness of another kind. The good news is, we did pass spending bills and fund the government. The bad news is, it took more than six months to do the very basics of governing—keeping the government funded and functioning, with shutting it down threatened at every moment. And, as soon as a bipartisan group of members (including me) voted to fund the government, another House Republican filed a motion to remove the Speaker of the House.

This kind of madness is not the good kind. And it’s also not limited to March. We’ve seen a lot of headlines like these over the past year.

Everything House Republicans have done—or in most instances, failed to do—since taking over the majority is a reminder of how important it is to elect responsible leaders. [[link removed]]
From the ever-threatened government shutdowns, to the baseless impeachments, to the bills abandoned to appease Donald Trump, House Republicans have shown us how they govern—or fail to govern.
It doesn’t have to be this way. It wasn’t this way the past few years when Democrats controlled the House. We were focused on governing responsibly, meeting the needs of the American people, and working across the aisle whenever we could.
This team is fighting to not only win our #TX07 race but to also win back the House majority so we can return to leadership that’s focused on getting the things done that Americans want done.
We are going to keep doing that work through November, and your contributions make that possible. We have an important FEC deadline this Sunday. If you are able to contribute and help us keep our campaign efforts going, I would be so grateful. It all adds up, and it all makes a difference. [[link removed]]
Together, we can do anything,
